Mahalia Jackson - When I Wake Up In Glory

"...Her first records were an instant success, and one of then, I will Move On Up a Little Higher,, sold over two million copies." "She has filled New York's Carnegie Hall at five concerts of her own, and has had similar successes in the great concert halls in Europe." - George Avakian

Lyrics-

I shall fall asleep someday
From this earth I'll pass away
But my soul shall reach a better land
When the things on earth all fail
And the host of sin prevail
And God's way we cannot understand

Chorus:
Oh, I’m going to wake, wake, wake up yes, in glory
And with Jesus
I'll sing redemption’s story
Oh---I shall see His blessed face
Who Has kept me by His grace
When I wake up yes, in glory by and by

When my weary red eyes are closed
And I've sung to sweet repose
Singing glory hallelujah as I go
All my troubles will be passed
And I'll be free from sin at last
And I'll leave all my sorryful heavy load

That's when I'm going wake, wake, wake yes, in glory
And with Jesus I'll sing redemption’s story
I shall see his blessed face
Who has kept me by His grace
When I wake up yes, in glory by and by

Yes I'll wake, wake, wake, up yes, in glory
And with Jesus I'll going to sing redemption’s story
When I see, oh, my blessed Savior yes,
He kept me by His grace
When I wake up yes, in glory, oh by and by.
